A performance like no other...

The Mattierin Irish Dance Troupe brings dancers of different ages and levels together for energetic performances filled with rhythm, precision footwork, dynamic choreography and the unmistakable sound of Irish dance.

From traditional favourites to contemporary performance numbers, our routines can be tailored to suit the audience and occasion — from community celebrations and cultural festivals to private functions and major events.

Live music is part of the Mattierin experience too. Mattierin instructors and musicians Merv Bell and Jessica Bell give our dancers the opportunity to perform with live accordion, piano and vocals at select events, bringing another dimension to the performance.

Mattierin performs throughout Edmonton and beyond.

Mattierin dancers have performed throughout Edmonton and beyond at cultural celebrations, community events, private functions and major productions. Past appearances have included Edmonton’s Heritage Days, The Ireland Funds of Canada’s Emerald Ball, the Queen’s Royal Visit to Edmonton, Voices for Hospice the Winspear Centre, performances at the Jubilee Auditorium, and St. Patrick’s Day events throughout the city. Mattierin dancers have also appeared on local and national television.

Our dancers have also had the opportunity to perform alongside renowned musicians and performing groups including The Chieftains, Eileen Ivers, Terry McDade and the McDades, Canada's Ukrainian Shumka Dancers, and many more. Mattierin is also proud to perform at schools, seniors’ homes, hospitals, weddings and charitable events, giving dancers of different ages and levels the chance to share Irish dance with audiences throughout the community.
